When Talut set forth with the armies, he said: “Allah will test you at the stream … (Holy Qur’an, Surah AL-BAQARA, verse249)

Imam al-Bāqir (pbuh) stated, “The number of people who remained faithful to [prophet] Ṭālūt (pbuh), was three hundred and thirty.”

Imam Ṣādiq (pbuh) stated,

“As God tested [prophet] Moses (pbuh) `s companions by a stream, Qa’em (mgehr)’s companions will be tested [by something] too.”

Do you still remember the event of Imam Ṣādiq and the Khorāsāni man?!

~ [At the end of their talk,]

The Imam (pbuh) stated,

“How many completely obedient Shīʿas do we have, who obey unconditionally and do not nag?”

The Khorāsāni man answered, “There is no completely obedient [among the people I know!]”

Yes, there is a big gap between claim and action.
